National information center that provides information on disabilities and disability related issues. This is a site rich with resources, including conferences, state organizations, and information.

National Institutes of Health- Autism Spectrum Disorders (Pervasive Developmental Disorders)
This site contains general information on autism spectrum disorders as well as information on current research into the causes and treatments.

Association for Science in Autism Treatment
ASAT is a not-for-profit organization of parents and professionals committed to improving the education, treatment, and care of people with autism.

Autism Society of America
ASA promotes community involvement of individuals with autism spectrum disorders through education, advocacy, and public awareness campaigns. The ASA Web site lists state and local autism societies and provides resources for parents, including legislative information, and answers to frequently asked questions from parents about autism spectrum disorders.

Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks funds global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cute for autism. This website will provide general information about autism, research and resources for support.

The Dan Marino Foundation
Funds integrated intervention services for children with special needs - medical, emotional, and/or behavioral.

Funding for research and programs that help families in the autism community.

The National Autism Center
The National Autism Center is a nonprofit organization that provides reliable information and offers resources for people affected by autism spectrum disorders. The National Autism Center supports evidence-based treatment approaches and shares the results with families.

The National Autistic Society (information available in various languages)
A charity in the UK that helps advocate for the rights and interest of all people with an autism spectrum disorder. This society provides help, support and services. This website contains information about autism spectrum disorders as well as various services and activities.

The National Association for the Dually Diagnosed
NADD provides education, training and information on mental health issues relating to persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH)
The TEACCH program is located at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. This Web site offers information about autism as well as various educational approaches.

Indiana Resource Center for Autism
An online resource that contains various articles of information and support for families, educators and individuals affected by autism.

This is a nonprofit agency that provides information and advocacy, services, education and consultation for those affected by autism.

NEW YORK

The Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders
The Cody Center is at Stony Brook University and promotes clinical treatment, research, community service, and education programs in order to benefit individuals with autism spectrum disorders or a related developmental disability.

OHIO

Milestones Organization
This organization provides strategies of success for individuals with autism, improves the level of education and therapeutic programming available, and helps train professionals, paraprofessionals and parents in the research-based successful education interventions.

This organization helps individuals with autism achieve their full potential by improving their outcomes through leadership, training and professional development, technical assistance, collaboration and technology.

RHODE ISLAND

Re-focus, Inc.
While we do not provide much information on autism at our site, we support adults of Rhode Island who have autism.  It would be a good site for someone to come upon if they were looking for a place that could help a family member or friend with autism. 

TEXAS

Families for Effective Autism Treatment- FEAT- Houston
A non-profit corporation organized by a group of parents who embarked on intensive home treatment programs for their autistic children. This is a great support group in Houston.

WASHINGTON

Families for Effective Autism Treatment- FEAT- Washington
FEAT serves families with children with autism and their educators. It offers both family and community resources and collaborates with local and national partners to help expand programming for individuals with autism.
